Carly and Youn's Wedding at The Inn at Barley Sheaf Farm

Rain on your wedding day is supposed to mean good luck, right? So for Carly and Youn, this was the perfect day for luck because it poured - it was literally flooding! But it didn’t damper anyone’s spirit and certainly didn’t stop these two from having a great time celebrating their nuptials at The Inn Barley Sheaf Farm in Holicong, PA.

Their wedding was a unique experience, not only for myself but for many of the guests in attendance as the couple incorporated both American and Korean traditions into their day. They said their vows in a typical western ceremony, before a quick outfit change to take part in a Paebaek Tea Ceremony. In this Korean tradition, the bride and groom get dressed into their respective attire and are seated on the floor across from the groom’s parents to perform the ceremony where they will share wisdom with the newlyweds as they are served tea. Part of this tradition included Youn carrying his new bride on is back around the room. It was so exciting to witness and made for some great laughs and memories.

When we finally had a quick break from the rain (and by quick break I mean we had about 5 minutes before it started raining again!), we grabbed the umbrellas and headed outside for some portraits in front of the venue, which despite the weather, turned out beautiful. Carly and Youn’s smiles were definitely the sunshine on that cloudy day!
