Enneagram Type 2 | Summer Wedding Inspiration at Pearl S. Buck House in Perkasie, PA

If Enneagram Type Two Were a Wedding

This styled shoot was designed and photographed with the question in mind, what if Enneagram Type Two, “The Helper,” were a wedding? The goal was to create wedding inspiration that embodied the warmth, reliability, depth, and quiet strength that define Type 2’s, where every detail was rooted in meaning, rather than excess.

Blue was intentionally chosen as the primary color of the shoot and designated as the color of Enneagram Type 2’s. In nature, blue is most commonly associated with the sky and the sea—symbols that reflect the emotional landscape of the Helper. Calm blue skies and gentle waters represent peace, stability, and emotional safety, qualities that Type 2’s naturally provide to the people they love.

At the same time, the sky and sea are capable of powerful storms. This duality felt essential to the concept, as Type 2’s are more than just kind and calm. In health, they love expansively and sacrificially, like the mighty ocean. Blue, as a primary color, also represents foundational strength and reliability.

The aesthetic direction leaned into the idea of “not your typical grandmother’s wedding”— a nostalgic, old-fashioned charm reimagined in a refined and intentional way.

Hand-stitched embroidery hoops were used as name cards, celebrating slow craftsmanship and the quiet acts of love that often go unseen. The bride wore hand-embroidered earrings by Misty Mountains Co., further emphasizing tradition and handmade artistry.

The groom’s pale blue gingham suit was inspired by vintage menswear, while the bride’s dark blue hair bow felt modest, traditional, and quaint. Together, the looks balanced familiarity with thoughtful design, honoring the past without feeling dated.

The florals in the shoot were designed to feel as though they were gathered from a backyard garden—soft, welcoming, and intentionally imperfect. Hydrangeas played a key role, reinforcing the blue color story while adding a sense of warmth and abundance.

The shoot took place at the Pearl S. Buck House, chosen intentionally for its historic stone buildings, cozy gardens, and greenhouse.. The venue felt like the perfect setting for a “grandmother’s backyard wedding” in the best sense—intimate, nurturing, and rich with history.

If Enneagram Type 2 were a wedding, it would be thoughtful, steady, and deeply heartfelt. It would prioritize care over spectacle and meaning over trends. This styled shoot was designed as a visual expression of that kind of love—one that serves, nurtures, and creates a sense of home for everyone present.
