Sun-Kissed | A Coastal Summer Styled Shoot at Kent Island Resort

August on the Chesapeake Bay? Yes, please. The warm air, golden sunset, salty breeze, and that unmistakable glow that only summer can bring. This styled shoot at Kent Island Resort I designed was to capture exactly that feeling: sun-kissed, beachy, and all things coastal.

From the very beginning, I envisioned a day that felt light, joyful, and inspired by the textures of the shore. Such talented vendors helped me bring this day to light (please see full list below!). The details for this shoot were so fun to put together - finding sea shells, cracking open coconuts. We had hand painted sea glass escort cards, and each piece felt like a tiny treasure washed ashore — delicate, personal, and perfectly coastal. Paired with airy textures, shells, and soft blue tones, the details felt romantic without being overdone.

Kay and Tyler were so fun to photograph and were giggling the whole time. Their energy was relaxed and joyful, exactly what I hoped this shoot would embody. Nothing felt stiff or overly posed — just movement, laughter, and that carefree kind of romance that summer seems to pull out of people.

As if the day couldn’t get better, we packed up and headed down the road to the Chesapeake Bay for sunset portraits — where we had reserved a private boat ride. Golden light danced across the water as we stepped aboard, and I officially crossed something off my creative bucket list: photographing a couple on a boat, something I’d always wanted to do! Let me tell you, it was everything I hoped it would be and more!

It was adventurous. It was dreamy. It was wildly fun. Yay summer!
