About the shoot
Join us for our next Enneagram Type inspired styled shoot at the lovely Durham Hill Farm! This shoot has been a long time coming (since 2020!) and will officially conclude our Enneagram Series project!
This shoot will be showcasing Pantone’s 2025 Color of the Year, Mocha Mousse, perfect for Enneagram Type 6 which has a brown color palette. Think earthy, natural, and rooted. Back to the nature elements of wood, clay, dirt. There will be handmade wild clay pottery, hand knotted artisan pretzels, and a ground coffee cocktail. “From the ground up”. Paired with the unique and rustic farmstead of Durham Hill, complete with a beautiful farm and horses (which we will pose our bride and groom couple with).
Notes about the shoot:
We will have 3 photographers per group max, in order to provide lots of space and time for each photographer to get plenty of images! These groups will rotate every 20 minutes throughout the stations. These stations include details such as…
-Reception setups (which include florals, tablescape, cake, signature food/drink display), Wedding inspired flat lay details, Bride and groom model couple, and an entire time devoted to having the couple pose with the horses, and a freestyle time where we can mix and match the stations and pose the Couple with the reception, drinks, cake, etc.
Total on-site time for shoot is 1.5 hours. We will also plan an arrival time for photographers to come before the shoot begins so we can explain the rotating stations, locations, and groups. This will be 15 minutes before the shoot start time.
**These photos are not the work of Laura Gares Photography. I used these images for the sole purpose of a mood board, to express the designs and style elements for this styled shoot.**
For any interested in the Enneagram and why the brown color palette, here are some fun facts about that :)
Type Sixes, also known as “The Loyalist”, are connected, rooted, and dependable. They are thoughtful and sincere individuals, and devoted to those they love.
As noted in Just My Enneatype - “Brown is one of two neutral colors, but neutral should not be read as “boring” because Sixes are anything but bland. There is quite a variety of browns out there, from bronze to coffee to mahogany to chesnut to khaki to sand. Sixes have the most variety among the three different instincts. There is much more nuance to brown than many other colors. We see lots of brown in nature, showing us a rootedness and connectedness that often characterizes Sixes. Sixes have a deep desire for safety and security, both for themselves and for the people in their lives, and as a result can be protective, nurturing, and bringing people together. The very ground that supports us, both indoors and outdoors, is often brown, not unlike how sixes in health provide support and stability for the people in their lives. Brown is not a loud, vibrant color, rather it’s adaptable and goes well with any environment.”
So, you can either nerd out along with me on all things Enneagram related, or you can simply be excited to photograph a magical shoot with a bride and groom model and some horses. Either way :)
